The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks

Trustees' Report

2017 - 2018

Chairperson: Joel Wolff

First of all, and on behalf of the Trustees, we would like to welcome and congratulate all of the existing and new officers who were chosen by our loyal members to direct and lead the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928 for the 2017-2018 Elk year. We thank all the retiring officers for their dedication and we hope this year will be even more successful than last year.

The Trustees also want to salute and congratulate Bob Rowe who was recognized by the Lodge as Citizen of the Year for all of his years of unselfish dedication of time, materials, and the use of his own equipment to keep the Lodge, the railroad, and the community running efficiently.

As an example, Bob Rowe just finished spearheading a group of eight to sand, clean, and refinish 32 of the Lodge rectangular tables and 33 of the Lodge circular tables to extend their life and eliminate splinters. In about 50 man hours the group got two coats of a Valspar finish on all the tables. Thank you Bob Rowe, Barry Sheppard, Jack Polhemus, Vinny LaSpada, Joe Eggert, Jerry Papariello, Bob Bianci, and Joel Wolff.

In conclusion, the Trustees would also like to give a congratulatory shoutout to two members of our newest class who four days later were involved in working their first end of the month breakfast. A thank you goes to Chris Grimes and to Gabe Esposito (who brought his wife Chris who also worked). Thank you for stepping up and getting involved. We enjoyed your company and we hope we will see you again next month.
